The Westman Islands host one of the largest nordic puffin colony in the world and travellers flock to Heimaey every summer to catch a glimpse of the iconic bird. The puffin is a relentless worker and burrows into the hills where the nest lies sound and safe.

In our tours, our trails will take you close to the puffin burrows so you can watch the puffin go about his business. In our boat tour we get a different angle from which to watch the puffins hunt sand eel for their pufflings.

On Bjarnarey islands is a large puffin colony. You can take out your camera and hike to the nesting area for the opportunity of great photos – or you can sit back on our porch and enjoy the stunning surrounding birdlife.
