Do you want to get as close to island Surtsey as possible? We can get you there. The islands was formed during an underwater volcanic eruption that took place between 1963-1967. Surtsey is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and provides scientists great insight into the colonisation process of new land by plant and animal life.

On the way are the caves at Stórhöfði, the southern islands (Álsey, Brandur, Hellisey & Suðurey) along with Súlnasker. Súlnasker hosts the second largest colony of northern gannets in Iceland and not far away is Geirfuglasker, where the Great auk used to breed before its extinction. This area is also your best chance to spot whales.
