We had an AMAZING day with Halli and Hjördís . I can’t recommend them highly enough. They are extremely knowledgeable, gracious, safe and fun to explore the Vestmannaeyjar. If you have to choose one thing to do, go adventure with SACA
Fantastic way to see the island. It’s a fast-paced one hour thrill ride to see the sights from the water that doesn’t disappoint. The friendly and capable crew make sure you’re suited up in warm and waterproof attire before sending you out in the bright yellow RIB boat. Then the fun begins. As you glide across the water, the DJ gets the party started and the guide fills you in on local history and folk lore. And how CJ’s hair manages to stay so perfect is a mystery.
This tour was a magnificent experience, thanks to the super-qualified crew; guys who have been sailing around the islands since the Surtsey-eruptions in the 1960s, from long before their parents knew what they were up to. As a result they know every skerry, cliff, cave and island, current, wave and wind in these waters; not to mention the wealth of stories from more than 1100 years of human habitation on the islands in addition to the geographical history of the different eruptions and lava-flows that have built up the island cluster through the millennia. The birds and fish and seals seem to be a part of their inner-circle of friends. In addition there was a surprising event manager on board who made sure that the high-point of the tour became sooo memorable!
What an amazing tour! If you only have time for one thing, this is it! After visiting Vestmann Islands hundred times or more I finally went on a rib tour and what a ride😍 I only regret now all the times I missed it. Next time I will do the hike with our amazing and true born and raised hunting king Halli.
